Kanamatsu, Everex, Phelps Dodge 2600 N Central Virgina & Central Phoenix, Az I worked at the Phelps Dodge tower for about 40 hours and wrote a device driver to control a Gilbarco Gas Pump controler thru a RS-232 line. At that time this business was a venture capital company funded by the Japanese company Kanmatsu. I didn't get paid for my work but agreed to get a cut of the sales of the product. It was fun work even though I never expected to get paid. I lucked out when the company was bought by Everex and I got $40,000 for the 40 or so hours of work I spent writting the device driver. Cool I made roughly 1,000 for each hour I worked. This was when I was working for Motorola in Scottsdale. It was also the time when Phoenix got it's first 120° F day followed by a 122° F day. For those of you who are not Americans 122° F = 50° C, yep a big 50° C! Come to Phoenix sometime it gets hotter than hell here.
